MINUTES LIKE DAYS

Produced by Craig Passant and Robin Lei Tietz, and Co-Produced by Bob Gabelhouse. Scalefighter is the long anticipated project started by it’s principle songwriter and creator, guitar virtuoso, multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, producer, artist Craig Passant.

Then comes in the vocal force with the almost untouchable range that is, singer, songwriter, producer, Robin Lei Tietz, who got on board as the lead vocalist, frontman, with his massive unique vocal input and influence. Then of course the absolutely incomparable, meticulous, Scotty Gamble on drums. Performed, engineered, recorded, mixed, and mastered at Big Audio Productions in Kelowna, Canada, with the great Bob Gabelhouse at the helm, who captures beautifully the unmistakable heavy raw sound that is Scalefighter.

It is a guitar oriented, vocal harmony filled, masterful array of progressive melodic hard rock with deep lyrical intelligence, moving with ease between the big rock epics, to ballads and toe tappers, always with a metal edge. You will not watch the clock as Scalefighter takes you on a big , heavy, not easily forgettable musical journey. With well over an hour of something to please every music fan , crank it way up and enjoy!

No los conociamos, pero suenan muy bien. Nos han gustado esas guitarras amigos, no dejeis de escucharios. Un abrazo amigos.   Cinco de cinco estrellas.

These guys have a great 8o’s influenced rock sound that I’m a super fan of. “Minutes Like Days” sounds like an Alice Cooper/ AC-DC collaboration with a little hair band mixed in to kick it up a notch. They also have great ballads like “Again” and “Never” winding down. I’ll be sure to be playing their music on my show on Total Metal Radio regularly. Can’t wait to hear more from Scalefighter!

The vocals of Robin Lei Tietz are truly pro plus caliber! Craig Passant’s musical experience shines on  this C.D.,  it is a tribute to the great musician that he is. Scalefighter has an all around great sound and production that we were glad to play on our podcast, and a project  that I would highly recommend to any fan of great rock music. –Allen Cox

Entertainment Review – Scalefighter

Q1: At what age did you start playing guitar?

A1: I began very young at about 5 to 6 years of age . My father brought home a little red Ukelele, which I still have, Ha! Once I put my eyes on it I was hooked, I still remember that day vividly. My brother actually started his lessons a few years before me as he is older, but then once I started lessons I was kicking his guitar butt in a few weeks, Ha!

Rock Casserole Radio Interview

First I’d like to thank Craig Passant for coming on our show, was a pleasure talking with you and spinning your songs. Scalefighter is proof that true hard rock and metal still exists! Old school hard rock and metal with a modern edge, The Minutes Like Days album has everything, each song unique in it’s own way, no two songs sound the same, I really love the constant changes in the songs, and epic sound. Awesome guitar work, and amazing vocals. I love when I hear a band who has their own sound, and doesn’t sound like a thousand other bands that are out there, and Scalefighter definitely has their own original sound, too many bands today sound alike. So if you’re looking for something original, unique, and epic, then pick up a copy of Minutes Like Days by Scalefighter…Another awesome band out of Canada!

Jeff Dbury – Host of The Rock Casserole Radio Show – Digital Revolution Radio

I have worked on a previous project with Rob and Craig, who are both very talented musicians. That project was one of the most enjoyable projects to come out of The Rockroom Studio! I can say truthfully, that I really like their style and this album is a great example of that amazing style!

This album kicks some serious butt and I love the songs, the sounds, the mix, all of it! This ain’t no bubblegum pop shite….

Way to go, guys, this one kicks!!!

Great to hear this CD after all the work & time that went into creating it! My top 4 picks are, ‘Never’, ‘Roads’, ‘Reach Back’, ‘Again’ & ‘Womb to Tomb’. They all sound like big hits to me. Love the slide guitar on ‘Never’. Also I can hear Craig’s classical influence throughout. Incredibly powerful! Well done all!

I would have expected nothing less than excellence. Very well played and produced album. A must for any music fan.

Paul Denton “Tyrants of Chaos”

Minutes like days is an epic album. Takes you on a journey and rocks your soul!

Riley

This band brings a different taste of music to the table. I don’t like to pigeon hole bands into a genre. They’re heavy, light, medium, dark and so much more. The songs bring many different feelings into play and their messages ring out loud and clear. Great guys to hang around with. Great to talk to live on air. What’s not to like about this? Buy their stuff and go see them live. GO SEE THEM LIVE. BUY EVERYTHING.

Lyrics

Minutes Like Days: 9:35

Minutes like days, days like minutes
Sometimes I just don’t get it
Can’t we learn to forgive it
Why take it to the limit
If it’s one thing it’s another
Back stabbing each other.

The grass is always greener
It’s been so long since I’ve seen her
I’m feeling guilty, cause I’m a dreamer
It’s a shame I’m a believer.

Thinking back to all those times I see
Perspective changes are growing in me
Feeling torn in two or maybe three

So So many years gone by
Too Too many tears in my eye
So So many lost true lies

Thinking back to all times I’ve seen
Perspective changes are growing in me
Still I wonder will I ever be free

So So many years gone by
Too Too many tears in my eye
Too many friends saying goodbye

Thinking back to all those times I see
Perspective changes are growing in me
Feeling torn in two or maybe three
Still I wonder will I ever be free

So many years gone by
Too many tears in my eye
So many lost true lies
Too Too many friends saying goodbye

Roads: 9:05

I remember when I wrote this song
Been down this road to long
I remember when I wrote this song
Been down this road to long
I never dreamed I’d be so strong
Even after I wrote this song

The nights are starting to fade so strong
Even after I wrote this song
Long shadows are almost gone
Even after I wrote this song

CHORUS:
Been down this road
Been down before
Been down this road
Been down before
Been down this road
Been down before
Been down this road
Been down before

It’s still a curiosity
Why I believe in me
I closed my eyes to see
Those hidden parts of me

It’s an atrocity
What you do to me
Why can’t you just let it be
Just open your eyes and see

I remember when I wrote this song
Been down this road to long
I remember when I wrote this song
Been down this road to long
I never dreamed I’d be so strong
Even after I wrote this song

(CHORUS)

It’s still a curiosity
Why I still believe in me

The Glow: 9:39

CHORUS:
Oh no, do we have to go
Will there be the great white glow
Oh no, do we have to go
To the great white glow

(CHORUS)

Do we have to go?
To the great white glow
Do we have to go?
To the great white glow

How many lives?
How many lives?

How many do we have to step-on
To reach our lofty goals?
How many do we have to step-on
To play the final role?
(repeat)

(CHORUS)

How many lives?
How many lives?

Then suddenly lightning strikes.
Are the planets aligned again?
Then suddenly lightning strikes.
This time we will not bend.

I won’t let time get in the way
Of what I need to say
I won’t be led astray
Black and white becomes grey.

(CHORUS)

Do we have to go?
To the great white glow
Do we have to go?
To the great white glow

How many do we have to step-on
To reach our lofty goals?
How many do we have to step-on
To play that final role?
How many do we have to step-on
To play that final role?

Never: 5:58

CHORUS:
Never thought I’d see you again
Never thought I’d see you again
Can’t you hear the memories?
*You tore the pages from my heart
From my heart

Don’t know where it’s going to end
They’ll soon forget us why pretend
Obsessions are endless my friend
I don’t care how much you spend
It’s more important the time we spend
How many of us are around?
When will it all come crashing down?
Our greed’s so deep we may just drowned
How many of us are around?

(CHORUS) X 2

I don’t know where it ends for me
They’ll soon forget, don’t lie to me
Possessions are endless, to be or not to be
I don’t know where its gonna end
They’ll soon forget us why pretend
You know such wounds will never mend
Obsessions are endless my friend

Reach Back: 11:02

Suddenly lately been thinking bout you
Can’t believe it’s a year or two
Faked my way through, we’re one of the few
Still haunting me, give me a clue
Always thinking what did I do, do to you
Stand back shout it out, talk to me
All we want is to be free
Collapse around us, who will find you
Who will find you

CHORUS: Reach back, Reach back
Reach back, Reach back
Reach back, Reach back
Reach back, Reach back

On the streets of self control
I’m gonna have to play my role
Who put you on that throne, on that throne
I don’t wanna be a fake,
It’s not the goal I contemplate
I will not partake
It’s gonna be a mistake
A broken clock is right twice a day
Imperfections is why I pay
Pride and dignity have gone astray, gone astray

(CHORUS)

Suddenly lately been thinking bout you
Can’t believe it’s a year or two
Faked my way through, we’re one of the few
Still haunting me, give me a clue
Always thinking what did I do, do to you
Stand back shout it out, talk to me
All we want is to be free
Collapse around us, who will find you
Who will find you

(CHORUS)

Cause your all talkin bout me

CHORUS: Lie’s always just come to me
I know it’s not meant to be
I’m not fuckin blind, I see
What are they doing to me

What makes you so special?
Who made you so cold?
What makes you so special?
You ain’t so bold
What makes you so special?
Who made you so cold?
What makes you so special?
You ain’t so bold

What makes you so special?
Who made you so cold?
What makes you so special?
You ain’t so bold

Uncomfortable: 8:56

Suddenly, people say I’m out of my mind
Suddenly, people say I’ve always been blind
Suddenly, people say why are you so kind?
Suddenly, people say you’re out of your mind

Suddenly, people say I’m out of my mind
Suddenly, people say I’ve always been blind
Suddenly, people say why are you so kind?
Suddenly, people say you’re out of your mind

I, … I feel uncomfortable
I, ... I’m not destructible
I, ... I feel uncomfortable
I, ...I feel destructible
I, ... I feel uncomfortable

I, … I’m feeling strong again
My, … My shadow’s back again
I, … I won’t be wrong again
I, … I’ll let the games begin
My, … My dawn is, It’s closing in
It’s closing in.

Suddenly people say I’m out of my mind
Suddenly people say I’ve always been blind

Again: 5:51

Here I am just spent some heaven with you this morning
And here you were, but, left me lying there all alone
What did we do my friend to warrant these kind of feelings
There's so many roads to take, well I guess we're saying good-bye, good-bye

CHORUS: Lost that feeling the one we had so long ago
We stopped believing then slowly started to drift apart. Again...

There you are acting as if you don't hurt
We could've gone far, just you and me and the promises made
What can we do my friend to stop these kind of feelings
But there's so many rules you break, well I guess we're sayin good-bye oh good-bye... Why?

(CHORUS)

Every time I see your face it hurts me to the bone Honey, please don't you leave me standing all alone. Not again...

(CHORUS)

Lost that feeling, the one we had so long ago
And without any reason you left me standing there all alone. Again.

MUSIC & LYRICS BY ROBIN LEI TIETZ

Womb to Tomb: 9:40

CHORUS:
Womb to Tomb
Doom and Gloom
Womb to Tomb
Doom and Gloom

(CHORUS)

Doom and Gloom

Misery, she set sail on my life today,
I know what’s coming
Gonna be goodbye I say, Goodbye I say
Sickness bleeds through me, I’m gonna pay
They’ll always be far from me
Out of the fray
Misery, set sail on my life today

(CHORUS) X 2

When the frets of life
Put me in the wrong key,
Pull my head from the darkness of the sand,
The darkness of the sand

Open my sandy eyes and start to see
Start to see,
From out of the cold,
The light will burn my hands

(CHORUS) X 3

Womb to Tomb

Womb to Tomb
It’s Doom and Gloom
It’s Womb to Tomb
Doom and Gloom
It’s Womb to Tomb
Doom and Gloom
Womb to Tomb
